Woman, 85, breaks arm in robbery in Stockport
Published: 18th Sep 2010 08:48:08
An 85-year-old woman had her arm broken by a robber who fled with her handbag in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
The elderly victim was attacked from behind shortly after she got off a bus in Gleave, Romiley, on Friday morning.
She was pushed to the ground, fracturing her upper right arm. Her attacker made off with her bag containing personal items and cash.
Det Con Kirsty Young described it as a "cowardly attack" and appealed for information.
The man, who was described as white and had been wearing dark-coloured overalls, ran down a passageway, which runs from Gleave on to Hyde Road.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
