Published: 17th Aug 2010 21:57:33
A woman has been charged with the murder of her estranged husband who was found bludgeoned to death at his home.
The body of Richard Challen, 61, was found at the property in Claygate at 1300 BST on Sunday, after he suffered severe head injuries.
Surrey Police said Sally Challen, 56, of Coverts Road, Claygate, had been charged with his murder.
Mrs Challen is due to appear at Staines Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
She was arrested on Sunday at Beachy Head, Sussex, by police officers.
Mr Challen, who was the retired owner of Westlake Garages in Richmond, south-west London, lived alone at the property in Ruxley Ridge.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Monday found he died of "severe blunt trauma" head injuries.
