Mother hit by car as she returned from wedding
Published: 16th Aug 2010 18:48:44
A mother of two who died after being hit by a car was returning from a wedding, it has emerged.
Linda Crosbie, 44, was knocked down as she crossed Dundee's Riverside Drive with a group of friends in the early hours of Sunday.
The accounts assistant had been dropped off at Discovery Quay shortly before the collision involving a blue Honda Civic CRX.
A 38-year-old male colleague was also seriously injured in the incident.
He is currently receiving treatment at Ninewells hospital.
Ms Crosbie from Monifieth, leaves behind a 16-year-old daughter, Leigh, and son Aidan, six.
Tayside Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time, either on foot or in a car, to get in touch.
A police spokeswoman said the force was particularly keen to speak to members of a party that had gotten off a bus which was parked in the car park adjacent to Discovery Point prior to the collision.
The spokeswoman added: "Whilst some of these people have already been traced, we would ask anyone who was in the area and who we have not already spoken with to contact us."
Officers are also keen to speak to two passengers of a grey Skoda Octavia taxi that stopped at the scene of the collision.
They said they also wanted to trace anyone who saw the movements of the Honda, a black Volkswagen Polo, a white Honda CRX car, a silver Vauxhall Corsa, a blue Ford Focus and the taxi in the South Marketgait, Riverside Roundabout and Riverside Drive areas before the crash.
