Three killed in motorway accident
Published: 30th Dec 2009 09:29:07
Three men have died after their car hit a barrier and overturned on the M62 in West Yorkshire, police have said.
The men, all from the Preston area, were killed when a Mitsubishi saloon came off the motorway near junction 23 for Huddersfield on Tuesday night.
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway near junction 23, a West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said.
The westbound carriageway was closed until early on Wednesday morning as crash investigators examined the scene.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the three men in the vehicle were all pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Driving conditions were difficult due to ice and snow at the time of the crash, but it is not yet known exactly how the accident happened.
