Duo deny Closeburn estate cannabis charges

Two men have appeared in court charged with producing cannabis at a former garage premises near Dumfries.

Allan Burke, 39, of Longley Lane, Manchester, and Allan McAleese, 35, of Criffel Road, Dumfries, face another charge of being concerned in supplying the drug between January 2006 and November 2008.

They denied the offences, alleged to have taken place at the Closeburn Industrial Estate.

The case was continued to next month.

Mr McAleese also denied being concerned in producing cannabis and supplying the drug at Criffel Road in Dumfries in April last year.

In addition he pled not guilty to driving a car on various roads without the appropriate licence and without insurance.
