More than 60,000 people are expected to join in the celebrations at the St Pauls Carnival which is taking place in the centre of Bristol.

The event, which began in 1967, is famous for the street parade of floats and children in colourful costumes.

The community festival is run by a non-profit making organisation and celebrates African Caribbean arts and culture in the city.

This year's theme is dedicated to those who make a difference in the community.

The carnival begins at 1100 and ends at 0200 BST. The procession starts at 1300 BST from the Carnival Village in Portland Square and finishes in the same place.
