Crews battle Scottish Borders grassland fire
Published: 22nd May 2010 13:49:48
Fire crews have been beating back the remains of a large blaze on the landmark Eildon Hills in the Borders.
Two pump units from Lothian and Borders Fire Service have been pouring water on the smouldering grassland in a bid to stop the fire spreading.
The blaze, just outside Melrose, was first reported at about 1400 BST on Friday.
Walkers have been stopped from using nearby footpaths until the fire is brought under control.
