Elderly man suffers burns after Flint house fire
Published: 13th Dec 2009 10:02:04
An elderly man has been taken to hospital with burns following a fire at a house in Flintshire on Saturday.
He was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital after being rescued from the fire in Albert Avenue, Flint, at 1349 GMT but his condition is not known.
A dog died in the blaze, said North Wales Fire and Rescue, who are investigating the cause of the fire.
Two fire crews from Deeside and Flint brought the incident on the ground floor under control.
Terry Williams, from the fire service, also issued an appeal for people to ensure they have working smoke alarms in place, especially in the busy Christmas period.
