Hundreds of people have attended the funeral of a 24-year-old Londonderry man shot dead at his home in Buncrana on Thursday.

Andrew Allen, a father of two from the Top of the Hill area of Derry, died after a number of shots were fired through the window of his home.

Dissident republicans have been blamed for his death.

He will be buried after Requiem Mass at Long Tower in Derry on Monday.

Parish priest Father Daniel McFaul said Mr Allen's family were "devastated".

"There's no other way to describe it, they're just completely and utterly devastated.

"This is a young man taken in the prime of his life.

"This morning my focus is on being with them and supporting them in their grief and getting them through the day."

Mr Allen was one of several men forced out of Derry by a republican vigilante group last year.
