Wallasey man gets life for stabbing wife to death in her home
Published: 31st Jan 2012 18:59:44
A 51-year-old Merseyside man has been sentenced to life and ordered to serve a minimum of 15 years for stabbing his wife to death.
Steven Cleary, of Shakespeare Road, Wallasey, pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to murdering mother-of-two Anne Marie Cleary.
Mrs Cleary, 41, died after being stabbed at her home in Oarside Drive, Wallasey, on 13 August.
The family said in a statement they were devastated by her murder.
They said: "Anne Marie was a valued mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many and her memory will remain with us always.
"We are grateful that this process is over but nothing will bring her back and we will always miss her."
