Woman held over £200,000 cannabis haul in Antrim
Published: 29th Jan 2012 17:23:16
A woman has been arrested after cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £200,000 were seized in Antrim.
The drugs factory was found on Belfast Road on Saturday.
Cultivating equipment and other drugs equipment were also found, a police spokesman said.
The woman who is 33 years old was arrested at the scene and is being questioned by police.
Area Commander Chief Inspector Natalie Wilson said a large quantity of potentially dangerous drugs had been taken off the street.
"We remain totally committed to tackling the scourge of illegal drugs and we are working to disrupt the activities of the gangs involved in their sale and supply, limit the amount of misery they are able to inflict on communities and ultimately put them behind bars," she said.
