Body found in Newcastle Emlyn river near where David Williams went missing
Published: 16th Jan 2012 12:57:32
Police have recovered a body from the River Teifi in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, near the site where a man went missing over a month ago.
Formal identification has not taken place, but Dyfed-Powys Police said they were keeping the family of David John Williams fully informed.
Mr Williams, 63, from Cwmhiraeth, Drefach Felindre, was last seen walking towards the river on 10 December.
He had visited Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Club that day.
He left the club at about 19:30 GMT and was reported missing by a family member at 22:00 GMT the same night.
Two mountain search and rescue teams and a dog search unit worked along with the police in the hunt to find Mr Williams in the days following his disappearance.
