Man thrown down flight of stairs at Midlothian house
Published: 4th Jan 2012 11:57:54
A man is recovering in hospital with a pin in his leg after it is thought he was thrown down a flight of stairs at a Midlothian house.
The 30-year-old man was then kicked down another staircase outside the house in Penicuik's Carlops Road in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Lothian and Borders Police has appealed for witnesses to the "serious attack" which happened at about 01:30.
The man is currently in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with a broken leg.
A police spokesman said: "It is believed the man had been at a party when he was attacked by at least one person, although more may have been involved.
"The incident happened at about 01:30, and there were a number of people in Carlops Road at the time who would have either witnessed the incident or had their attention drawn to it by the presence of the ambulance.
"We would like anyone who witnessed the assault, or who has any information that can assist our inquiries, to contact police."
