Tribute to Wigan murder victim Ian Sudworth
Published: 20th Nov 2011 16:59:13
The family of a 24-year-old man who was stabbed to death in Wigan has paid tribute to him.
Ian Sudworth, from Beech Hill, was found unconscious on Scot Lane shortly after 04:05 GMT on Saturday.
He was taken to Wigan Royal Infirmary where he was confirmed dead a short time later.
A 21-year-old man, arrested on Saturday on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody. A woman and a man have been released without charge.
In a statement, Mr Sudworth's parents said: "Ian, you always looked for the silver lining to every cloud.
"We are having to struggle to find this one all by ourselves. Miss you and love you always."
A post-mortem examination concluded the cause of Mr Sudworth's death was stab wounds.
Police said an argument had broken out between a group of people shortly before the stabbing.
They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
