Classic Brough Superior motorbike may fetch £185,000

An automobilia auction is offering a classic motorbike with a sale estimate of £165,000 - £185,000.

The auction at Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate will have about 400 lots for sale including classic cars and other motorbikes.

Among them will be a 1928 Brough Superior SS100 motorbike, which is expected to fetch the six-figure sum.

Ben Walker, head of motorcycles at Bonhams said: "Harrogate always attracts an international audience."

Hundreds of bidders are expected to attend the event in person and bids are also expected over the internet and by phone.

Other motorcycles offered include a 1955 Vincent Black Shadow and a 1939 Ariel Square Four.

The top lots in the car section of the sale include a 1953 Bentley R-Type Special Roadster, 1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Saloon and a last-of-the-line 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Coupé.

Automobilia for sale includes a forecourt sign, petrol pumps and garage equipment.
