M40 in Oxfordshire closed after serious crash

Part of the M40 in Oxfordshire has been closed following a serious accident.
Three cars were involved in the collision on the southbound carriageway between junctions 9 at Bicester and 8A at Thame shortly after 03:00 BST.
Firefighters had to use hydraulic cutting gear to release people from one of the vehicles.
Thames Valley Police said some people had suffered serious injuries. Officers said the road was expected to reopen after 12:00 GMT.
