Mottingham family car crash: Boy, 10, dies
Published: 3rd Nov 2011 19:11:34
A 10-year-old boy critically injured in a south-east London car crash - which left his whole family hurt - has died.
The Peugeot car in which the family were travelling was in collision with a Scania tipper truck in Mottingham on Wednesday.
The boy died in hospital on Thursday. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
His mother, 32, father, 43, and sisters aged four and seven, all remain in hospital.
The youngest girl is understood to have suffered a broken leg.
The rest of the family suffered a variety of injuries but are now thought to be stable.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened on the London-bound carriageway of the A20 Sidcup Road.
The driver of the truck, a man aged 43, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
He was taken to a south London police station and later bailed to return in January.
