Phil Vickery crowned Celebrity Masterchef champion
Published: 23rd Oct 2011 12:03:31

Former England rugby union captain Phil Vickery has been named the winner of the latest series of Celebrity Masterchef.
The BBC series was won by the star, who beat off competition from broadcaster Kirsty Wark and actor Nick Pickard.
Vickery stated that he was "gobsmacked" with his victory and proclaimed it a miracle.
Judge John Torode said: "Phil has got something very, very special. He wants to feed people to make them happy and that is what a true cook is all about."
Gregg Wallace, another judge on the programme, stated that Vickery has a "serious" talent in the kitchen.
The ex-England player made scallops with black pudding for his starter, followed it with lamb fillet with fondant potatoes, baby carrots, asparagus wrapped in mint and Parma ham, with a finale of orange and chocolate bread and butter pudding and clotted cream.
Vickery, who was part of the England World Cup-winning squad, won 73 caps for his country during his career.
