Netherfield murder victim named by police
Published: 16th Oct 2011 17:56:36
A murder inquiry is under way after the body of a 24-year-old woman was found at a house in Nottingham.
Police found the body of Leighann Wightman at a house in Norman Street in Netherfield at about 05:30 BST on Saturday.
Results of a post-mortem examination revealed the mother-of-one died from stab wounds.
Two men, aged 26 and 48, arrested on Saturday morning remain in police custody.
Norman Street, Godfrey Street and Deabill Street were cordoned off to allow an examination of the property and surrounding area to take place.
Detectives have been carrying out house-to-house inquiries and CCTV footage is also being examined.
Officers have appealed to any taxi drivers who were in the area and anyone who may have seen anything to contact them.
