Published: 14th Sep 2011 08:48:27
A woman and a child were rescued from a block of flats in Edinburgh after a blaze broke out in a hallway.
Fire crews were called to the four-storey block of terraced flats in Buckingham Terrace, in the west of the city, shortly after 22:00 on Tuesday.
Neighbours on the ground floor managed to escape but the woman and child had to be taken to safety from their second-level property.
They were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
