Man tied to lamp-post and attacked in Ashton-under-Lyne

Four people have been arrested after a man was tied to a lamp-post in a Greater Manchester street and attacked.

Police were called to Whiteacre Road in Ashton-under-Lyne at about 06:00 BST on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Two men, both 25, and two women, 37 and 24, are being questioned on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm, a police spokesman said.

He asked anyone with any information to contact Greater Manchester Police or Crimestoppers.
