About 8,000 pipers and drummers from 16 countries are due to compete in the World Pipe Band Championships.
Every year more than 200 bands attract thousands of spectators to Glasgow Green for the event which is affectionately known as "The Worlds".
The biggest competition of its kind, it is estimated to be worth millions to the local economy.
The championship, which has been held in Glasgow for more than 60 years, also features Highland dancing and games.
