A 16-year-old boy has died after suffering head injuries at a Greater Manchester factory, police said.

Officers attended the scene on Huntley Mount Road, Bury, at 10:45 GMT on Tuesday after reports of an "industrial accident".

Cameron Minshull, from Bury, was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital but died a short time later.

A joint Greater Manchester Police and Health and Safety Executive investigation is now under way.

In a statement, Cameron's family said his death "will leave a big hole in many people's hearts".

"We have lost a very precious part of our lives and there are no words that can describe how we are feeling.

"Cameron was a much loved son, brother , nephew , grandson , great-grandson and a friend to many."

"We just ask at this terrible time if we could have some space to grieve as a family."
