The family of a Manchester motorcyclist who died after swerving to avoid a head-on collision with a car has urged witnesses to contact police.

Christopher Beaumont, 30, was riding a Suzuki off-road bike on Bank Bridge Road, Clayton, when he swerved, hit an embankment and went into a metal fence.

His family has paid tribute to their "beautiful angel" with a heart of gold.

His mother said: "My precious son was taken so suddenly, why? If anyone has seen anything please get in touch."

"I need answers," she added.

The crash took place just after 17:45 BST on 2 August.

Mr Beaumont, who was from Newton Heath, was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.

In a statement, his mother and sister said he was "a hard working, gentle loving soul."

They added: "The impact he's left behind is overwhelming. He loved his fishing, his food, his friends, his family and his bike. He spent weekends riding his bike with friends.

"The angel taken away from us so suddenly had a heart of gold and will be missed by so many, never will be forgotten and forever in our thoughts, prayers and most of all our hearts.

"We will always remember your precious smile and your amazing personality. Love you forever, your mum, dad, brother and sister, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends."
