Man hurt as brick thrown at car windscreen in Salford

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a brick was thrown through the window of a car in Salford.
The 27-year-old had been driving along Liverpool Road, Peel Green, when the brick was thrown through his windscreen at about 13:00 BST on Friday.
The incident caused the car to crash into a traffic light and the driver suffered a serious head injury.
Police said their investigations were ongoing. The road was closed for several hours.
