Published: 21st Jul 2012 02:50:46
Hundreds of serving and retired military personnel are expected to attend Inverness Highland Games and Armed Force Day later.
A parade from the city centre to the Northern Meeting Park will be led by a massed pipe band.
The armed forces day element of the occasion honours servicemen and women and veterans.
The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 Scots) is based at nearby Fort George.
In April, the battalion returned to Scotland following a six-month operational tour in Afghanistan.
