Two men, aged 18 and 43, have been charged with riotous behaviour following disturbances in the Galliagh area of Londonderry on Thursday.
Police were attacked by people throwing missiles after they responded to a report of public disorder at Moss Park at about 22.30 BST.
A crowd of youths had built a barricade on the road and set it alight.
The 43 year old has also been charged with a number of other offences and is due to appear in court on Saturday.
The teenager is expected to appear before the city's Magistrates Court on 8 August.
