River Mersey death boy named as Lewis Millward

A 14-year-old boy whose body was found in the River Mersey on Thursday has been named as Lewis Millward.

The teenager, from Widnes, Cheshire, died from multiple injuries consistent with a fall, a post-mortem examination found.

Police were called to the Silver Jubilee Bridge, which crosses the River Mersey between Runcorn and Widnes, on Thursday morning.

Cheshire Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious.
