Galaxy Note £370

A rare car which lay in a Gloucestershire barn for more than 15 years has been sold at auction for £22,000.

The car was bought by an anonymous bidder who plans to restore it.

Originally a taxi, the 1910 Panhard-Levassor starred in the film The Man Who Loved Redheads in 1955 and was due to be sent to America.

It was eventually bought by a GP from Wotton-under-Edge and then stayed in the barn for 15 years.

Auctioneer Richard Edmonds said: "It is in great condition considering and is a beautiful car. It was so rare the Panhard club did not even know of its existence.

"We had a cracking auction today selling a cracking 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom that sold for £39,000, a 1959 Ford Consul that was in an Elton John video has provisionally sold for £6,000, the Panhard topped off a great day."
