Walsall double shooting: Man and woman released on bail
Published: 9th Jun 2012 10:30:58
Two people questioned over a double shooting at a house in the West Midlands have been released on bail.
Ambulance crews found a 43-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman with gunshot wounds in Laneside Gardens, Walsall, shortly after 01:30 BST on Friday.
Paramedics tried to revive them but they died at the scene.
A man, 23, and woman, 22, were arrested on suspicion of murder and questioned by West Midlands Police. They have been bailed pending further inquiries.
The victims have not been formally identified and a police spokesman said post-mortem examinations would take place later.
Supt Keith Fraser, head of crime and operations for Walsall, said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the victims at this difficult time.
"We cannot underestimate the impact an incident like this has on the community but I would reassure local people that they have nothing to fear with regard to their own safety as we are treating this as an isolated incident."
