Bangor armed robbery trio sentenced to 26 years in jail in total
Published: 31st May 2012 19:17:42
Three Gwynedd men have been jailed for a total of 26 years for an armed robbery at a property in Bangor.
Ricky Lloyd, 25, Terrence Lloyd, 26, and Andrew Bain, 34, were sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court after being convicted of the robbery after a trial.
The court heard how the men's victim was clubbed with an imitation gun and kicked while lying on the floor.
Ricky and Terrence Lloyd were given nine-year sentences, with eight years for Bain. All three are from Bangor.
Ricky Lloyd was ordered to serve an additional year in prison after admitting a flat burglary in Bangor.
Your victim was clubbed about the head twice with a weapon and left bleeding profusely”
The court heard the robbery took place in April last year, when Bain posed as a friend of their victim, before his two disguised accomplices forced their way into the property.
Judge Niclas Parry said it had been a premeditated armed robbery involving a group attack on a man.
"Your victim was clubbed about the head twice with a weapon and left bleeding profusely, and while on the floor kicked to the back and the back of the head," said the judge.
The court heard that Terence Lloyd had previous convictions for 91 offences, including violence and burglary.
Ricky Lloyd also had previous history of offending, relating to a lifestyle of drug use.
He was also on bail for other burglary and drug offences when the attack took place.
Senior investigating officer, Det Con Arwel Jones, said after the case: "This was a lengthy investigation.
"The residents of Bangor will be relieved that these three dangerous individuals will be off the streets for a considerable time."
