Man, 56, found with head injuries in Glasgow
Published: 26th May 2012 11:40:32
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was found unconscious with a serious head injury in the centre of Glasgow.
The 56-year-old was found in Miller Street, in the Merchant City area, shortly after midnight.
Police are trying to work out whether he was attacked or had fallen.
Officers appealed for information and would like to speak to a man who went to the injured man's aid. They have been gathering CCTV images.
Det Insp Sandy McLean, of Strathclyde Police, said: "A man is in a critical condition and it's important we find out what happened to him.
"There are residential flats near to where the man was found and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything to get in touch with us.
"Any information could help us piece together the circumstances and establish whether a crime has actually taken place."
