Woman dies, two hurt in Bala, Gwynedd, lakeside crash

A woman passenger in a car has died and two other people are seriously injured following a crash involving two cars near the lake in Bala, Gwynedd.
North Wales Police said the local woman in her early 20s was one of three people in a silver hatchback-type car which crashed on the A494.
It is reported the vehicle ended up on its roof after leaving the road.
A man driving a second car has been arrested on suspicious of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police said the man was also driving a silver hatchback-type car and both vehicles were travelling in the same direction.
They have appealed for witnesses to the incident which happened at around 19:25 BST around two miles out of Bala in the direction of Dolgellau.
Both the driver and the second passenger of the car which left the road suffered serious injuries.
North Wales Police incident manager Insp Chris Jolley said: "A woman from a local family, and aged in her early 20s, has died. Her family have been informed.
"An investigation has been launched to determine the full circumstances of this incident.
"The driver of the second vehicle has been arrested on suspicious of causing death by dangerous driving."
Fire crews from Bala and Corwen attended the scene along with a number of ambulances and a police helicopter.
