Bury policeman Brendan Buggie denies crash death charge

A policeman has denied causing a passenger's death in a car crash in Greater Manchester.

PC Brendan Buggie, 38, from Bury, denied causing death by driving without due care and attention while unfit through drink at Bradford Crown Court.

Mr Buggie was charged after a collision on Manchester Road, Ramsbottom, on 5 December 2011.

His front-seat passenger, 26-year-old Justyna Stanczak, was taken to hospital after the collision but later died.

Mr Buggie will face trial at Bradford Crown Court on 19 November.
