Aberdeen Beach Esplanade crash leaves teenage driver dead

A teenage motorist has died after a two-vehicle crash on the Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen.
The collision, which happened at 07:45 on Saturday, involved a red Fiat Punto and a red Ford Transit van.
The 18-year-old driver of the Punto was taken to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The male van driver was not seriously hurt in the crash. Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
