Police hail £250,000 Cairnryan drug seizure
Published: 10th May 2012 12:13:53
Police have said the seizure of drugs with a street value of £250,000 at the Irish Sea ferry port at Carinryan underlines their commitment to disrupt trafficking on the North Channel route.
The haul was recovered during checks on a horse transporter before the vehicle boarded a sailing to Belfast.
Two men were charged in connection with the discovery and appeared at Stranraer Sheriff Court earlier this month.
One remains in custody while the other was granted bail.
