Owen McKeown suspect moved to psychiatric ward

A 26-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of Owen McKeown in the River Bann at the weekend has been moved to secure psychiatric accommodation.

Police said he was transferred following a medical assessment.

Mr McKeown, 21, from the Dunclug estate in Ballymena, went into the water close to the Bann Road bridge in Kilrea at about 18:00 BST on Saturday.

His body was found on Sunday.

Two other men, aged 25 and 30, who were questioned, were released on Monday.
