Woman struck by taxi in Manchester city centre

A woman has been seriously injured after being struck by a taxi in Manchester city centre.
Police were called to Portland Street at about 00:05 BST and found the 20-year-old victim drifting in and out of consciousness.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was receiving treatment for a serious head injury.
Greater Manchester Police said anybody who witnessed the collision should come forward.
