Man charged with fraud over Olympic Games dance sponsorship

A 35-year-old man has been charged with fraud over an alleged scam to sponsor children from dance schools at the closing event of the 2012 Olympics.
Steve Moonesamy, of Lowlands Close, Northampton, is accused of four counts of fraud by false representation.
He is due to appear at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court later on Saturday.
A woman, 31, who was arrested and taken to an east London police station has been bailed to return on 16 May, pending further inquiries.
Police are investigating claims that a company called RWB Project, Midlands, approached dance schools in Northamptonshire asking if pupils wanted to take part in the ceremony in August.
About 75 pupils, aged between nine and 19, are thought to have been practising for the event.
Detectives from Operation Podium investigated reports of the sponsorship offers after a referral by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Locog).
Locog has confirmed that RWB Project, Midlands, is not associated with the Olympic or Paralympic Games.
