Charges after St Helens drug operation

Sixteen people have been charged with drug offences following a major police operation in St Helens.

Merseyside Police arrested 21 people at addresses in St Helens, Newton-le-Willows and Warrington on Thursday.

Fourteen men aged 26-44 and two women aged 40 and 46 have been charged with drug offences.

The charges relate to the supply of Class A drugs, and possession of and conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

Two men aged 19 and 24 have been released without charge. A 36-year-old man and 43-year-old woman have been bailed pending further inquiries.

All those charged are due to appear at Knowsley Magistrates' Court later.
