Dundee woman in court over John Whyte death
Published: 3rd May 2012 16:56:54
A woman has appeared in court charged with murder after a man was found dead in a flat in Dundee.
Elizabeth Reid, 57, was arrested on Tuesday night after John Whyte, 50, was found dead at an address in the city's Provost Road.
Police had been called after reports of a disturbance at the ground floor property earlier in the day.
Mr Whyte treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
Ms Reid, of Dundee, appeared on petition in private at the city's sheriff court on Thursday.
She made no plea or declaration during a brief hearing before Sheriff Elizabeth Munro.
The case was continued for further examination and Ms Reid was remanded in custody.
It is expected that she will appear in court again next week.
Police have said Mr Whyte's death is not linked to the murder of John Kennedy in Dundee's Mossgiel Crescent two days earlier.
