Llangollen Dental Practice closes due to 'internal issues'
Published: 2nd May 2012 12:36:31
A Denbighshire town's dental practice has closed suddenly, affecting up to 1,500 NHS patients as well as private customers.
Health officials are referring patients to five surgeries in other areas after the closure of Llangollen Dental Practice due to "internal issues".
An answer phone message tells patients to contact the local health board.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) says it is holding talks with the practice about its contract.
The health board has written to all of those patients who are currently undergoing treatment to offer alternative services at other practices”
BBC Wales has been unable to contact the practice but a BCUHB statement explained that the practice recently closed due to internal issues.
It said: "The health board is currently seeking reassurance regarding a range of contractual issues."
It has about 1,500 NHS patients and a number of private patients.
An answer phone messages advises NHS patients to contact the health board and private patients to contact Denplan, a dental payment plan specialist.
The BCUHB statement said: "The health board has written to all of those patients who are currently undergoing treatment to offer alternative services at other practices in the local area."
