A woman from Lancashire has appeared in court over the death of her baby son after a television fell on top of him.

Natalie McMillan, now of Dirkhill Road, Bradford, appeared at Burnley Magistrates' Court charged with the manslaughter of four-month-old Kian.

Ms McMillan, 24, is also charged with child neglect between December 5 and 6.

Edward Hanratty, 40, from Bradford, is accused of child neglect on the same dates. Both have been bailed to appear at Burnley Crown Court on 21 May.

Kian was taken to hospital with head injuries following the incident at his home in Scarlett Street, Burnley, on 6 December.

He was transferred from the Royal Blackburn Hospital to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital but died the next day.
