Man jailed for stabbing boy, 13, in Greater Manchester

A man who stabbed a 13-year-old boy in the back in Greater Manchester has been jailed for three years.

James Allan, 27, of Paradise Street, Audenshaw, Gtr Manchester, was convicted of unlawful wounding by a jury at Manchester Crown Court.

Allan was cleared of causing wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and affray.

The boy was attacked as he was playing football with his friends on a school playing field in Sale in February 2011.

His older brother and his friend were walking their dogs nearby on Cherry Manor when they came across Allan and his dog at 15:30 GMT.

Allan got into an argument and a scuffle with the victim's brother who had tried to separate their dogs.

During another altercation later Allan stabbed the boy in the back.
