Simon Jones: Driving licence of missing man found on Aberystwyth beach
Published: 24th Apr 2012 17:29:17
A driving licence belonging to a man missing for over two weeks has been found by tourists on a beach in Aberystwyth.
The licence was posted to Simon Jones' home and police have since interviewed the tourists, who had no knowledge of Mr Jones' disappearance.
Mr Jones, 24, was last seen on 9 April after a night out in the town.
His father, Gwynfor Jones, said he was "bearing up" but knew of no reason why his son would disappear.
"It's the not knowing that's the worst thing," said Mr Jones, from Llandysul.
"He had made plans, he had his business, he was busy and he'd been with a friend on Sunday and made plans.
"Stuff has been delivered to his workshop, but there's no news of where he is."
Mr Jones was supposed to stay with friends in Penparcau but failed to arrive after his night out and was last seen in St James Square at 01:34 BST.
His father added it "strange" that his Mr Jones' driving licence was not in the wallet he usually carried with him.
Police have carried out searches in Aberystwyth and the surrounding area and have also conducted financial, computer, Facebook and mobile phones searches.
Dyfed-Powys Police have asked anyone with information to contact them or call 101.
