Two-year-old boy dead in Bolton: Man arrested in murder probe
Published: 23rd Apr 2012 10:45:54
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a two-year-old boy in Greater Manchester.
Police were called to a house in Cheriton Drive in the Breightmet area of Bolton on Sunday after reports the boy was having a cardiac arrest.
The boy was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital but later died.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the man arrested was the partner of the child's mother.
A post-mortem examination is expected to take place at Manchester Children's Hospital later.
Det Supt Jon Chadwick said the investigation was at an early stage.
He added: "I would like to extend my sympathies to this young boy's family and friends at what is clearly a very difficult and emotional time for everyone."
