Teenage footballer collapses and dies after match

A 16-year-old boy has died after collapsing during a football match in Derbyshire.

Ben Obiora who played for Dove Holes FC, near Buxton, was taken to Stepping Hill hospital in Stockport on Saturday where he later died.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Dove Holes Football Club said it wanted to express it sorrow at the death of the teenager.

"Everyone involved at the club would like to pass on their heartfelt thoughts and condolences to Ben's family and friends," it said in a statement.
