Police are trying to identify a pedestrian who was hit by a private hire taxi and killed on a Glasgow road.

The man, who was 30-35 years old, 5ft 2ins, of medium build and about 60kg (9st 6lbs), was knocked down on Saracen Street at 22:35 on Saturday.

He died at the scene after being hit by the silver Vauxhall Vectra.

He has dark brown hair, which is slightly receding in a crew cut style. He was wearing size 7 white Adidas Hi-Top training shoes.

He was also wearing a dark coloured tracksuit, dark coloured T-shirt and a yellow metal bracelet.

Sgt Stuart Bell, of Strathclyde Police, has appealed for witnesses, including any drivers who were in the area, to come forward.

He would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the man before he was knocked down.
