British singing sensation Adele has returned to the top of the UK album chart, taking the top spot from Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Adele's second album 21, the biggest selling record of 2011, has now spent 64 weeks on the UK chart.

Former Canadian Idol contestant Carly Rae Jepsen remains top of the singles chart with her Call Me Maybe track.

Jepsen saw off a challenge from fellow Canadian Justin Bieber, whose single Boyfriend entered the chart at two.

Singer-songwriter Gotye remains at number three with his hit record Somebody That I Used to Know, featuring Kimbra.

The song's success has now extended to US TV show Glee, which featured a cover version of the song in its most recent episode.

Climax by US star Usher was another new entry in this week's Top 10, making its countdown debut at number four.

We Are Young by indie band Fun entered the singles chart at seven, while UK rapper Sway claimed eighth place with his track Level Up.
