Four people have been charged with public order offences over a protest against the building of an Olympic basketball training facility.

Three men and a woman were arrested when police evicted up to 30 people blocking access to the building site at Leyton Marsh in east London.

They have been charged with breaching the Public Order Act and will appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The demonstrators had been camped at the site since last week.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said Simon Carleton, 29, Daniel Ashman, 27, Anita Olivacce, 25 and Connor Murray, 24, had been charged.

The High Court granted a possession order allowing the eviction of the protesters last Thursday.

Bailiffs and Metropolitan Police officers arrived at the site at about 08:00 BST on Tuesday.
